Reel Badass Studios: Get A Sneak Peak At The Upcoming DC Comics Films

For a little close to a decade now, Disney and Marvel have been dominating the live action, cinematic superhero genre on the silver screen. Well now, there is a shift afoot, fans of the legendary and iconic DC Comics have been itching for them to get their turn at bat, and it looks like all the pieces are coming together. Today we will get an official look at the upcoming DC Comics Film slate.

Scheduled for showcasing on The CW tonight, January 19, at 9:30/8:30c director and fanboy Kevin Smith along with producer and comic book writer Geoff Johns will be our guides into the newly established DC Film Universe. In addition to the showcasing later on tonight, we also have our first glimpse at the Justice League lineup and a new Suicide Squad poster.

The upcoming gritty, ensemble film will be directed by David Ayer (Fury) and has been promoted as a film that will showcase the bad guys of the DC Comics universe which includes the debut of highly anticipated and fan favorites like Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith) and Katana (Karen Fukahara) and reinventions of previously portrayed characters like Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) and The Joker (Jared Leto).

And finally we get our first look at the official Wonder Woman film logo, courtesy of the upcoming films official twitter account.

If all goes to plan, the DC Comics Cinematic Universe could finally have the ammunition to rival their biggest competitors. Tune in tonight on the CW for more information.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25th, 2016 followed by Suicide Squad on August 5, 2016.
