Director Paul Fieg (Bridesmaids, Spy) has announced via Twitter that Chris Hemsworth will be joining the all female comedic reboot of Ghostbusters. Hemsworth is reportedly taking on the role of the teams receptionist. The role that was played by Annie Potts as Janine Melnitz in the previous movies.
This casting comes outta surprise, Hemsworth hasn’t been known for his comedic chops outside of his quips in the marvel films, but this could potentially shed a whole new light on him as an actor and open doors for him. Hemsworth has been strategically maneuvering himself around as an actor, by taking on comedic roles, as he will be recently seen in Vacation later on this year.
I’m genuinely intrigued by this, and excited to see what he brings to the role. The cast is already starred studied with Melissa McCarthy (Spy) and Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) leading the ensemble.
Ghostbusters will hit theaters July 22, 2016 DIrected by Paul Feig and written by Feig and Kattie Dipplod and stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.
