According to Variety, Chris Pine is in talks with the studio to join the upcoming Wonder Woman solo movie starring Gal Gadot and directed by Patty Jenkins. Early this month or last month (I can’t remember) there were numerous reports that Scott Eastwood would be playing the role of Steve Trevor but according to the site he was given the choice to test for that role or take on a guaranteed supporting part in Suicide Squad. That’s interesting and something I can attest that he probably made the right decision.

For those of you who don’t know who Steve Trevor is, in the original comics he crashed land on Paradise Island and became exposed to the world of the Amazon’s and spent months recovering before being taken back to America by Wonder Woman, but in the decades since then this has been reconnected and he’s now a government liaison for the super heroes and was Wonder Woman’s apparent lover.

Chris Pine of course is best know for his role as Captain James T Kirk, a role which he fits in so nicely. This is probably a welcome for Pine as he gets to jump on two franchise trains. I can actually see Pine as Trevor and look forward to his interplay with Gal Gadot.

Wonder Woman hits theaters June 23rd, 2017 directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine (maybe)
